I've always enjoy cooking...I love to see the end result of my dishes and always feel glad and happy when I see a smile on the face of those friends that tasted my food.
Cooked dinner again yesterday for Ying and her friend who's leaving on a jet plane that night itself after a short holiday in Melbourne. =)
I prepared my ever famous yet simple....
Steamed Prawn with ShaoXing Wine.

This dish is fairly easy and quick to make, not to forget, simply delicioussss!!!! All you need is some fresh prawn, ginger and garlic.
As for the sauce, mix together some ShaoXing wine (you could add more if you love more alcohol taste in your dish), sesame oil, soy sauce, pepper, salt and some water.

Dish 2- MaPo Tauhu

I loveee Szechuan food!! totally yumsss~ hehehe~ It's my first time making this dish. I would say it turns out quite well. The only flaw bout it is it's a lil too spicy cos I am toooo generous with the amount of dry chili I added inside. But, I love the spiciness!!! Total great combination with a bowl of hot white rice!!! Blissss~
Dish 3- Emperor's Herbal Chicken

My first time making this as well. I always love making new dishes and see how they turn out and will always improvise them to taste better next time. Hehehehe~
Anyways, I should just marinate the chicken in salt and pepper instead of adding in soy sauce as well. The chicken turns out to be a tad salty but nonetheless, yummy...Especially the herbal soup, heavenly!!!
1 bowl of ikan bilis
4 red chillies
6 slices fresh gingers
4-5 cloves garlic
2 red onions sliced
1 tomato
1 tbsp on Belacan
1-2 tbsp of sugar
2 tbsp tumeric powder
1-2 tbsp cinnamon powder
2 tbsp chili powder
2 tbsp Anchovy sambal chili paste (available at any Asian grocery stores)

Ah well, since Hong has been asking me for the recipe of my Sambal Ikan Bilis, so here goes:1 bowl of ikan bilis
4 red chillies
6 slices fresh gingers
4-5 cloves garlic
2 red onions sliced
1 tomato
1 tbsp on Belacan
1-2 tbsp of sugar
2 tbsp tumeric powder
1-2 tbsp cinnamon powder
2 tbsp chili powder
2 tbsp Anchovy sambal chili paste (available at any Asian grocery stores)

It's fairly simple really. First, just blend your chili, tomato, ginger and garlic together. Then, heat up your work, add some oil and stir fry the blended paste till they are fragrant then add in the onions, tumeric, cinnamon, sambal chili paste and Belacan.
Continue stir-frying everything till the paste is well blended and fragrance. Throw in your ikan bilis, and continue stirring/frying. After a couple of minutes, add in the sugar and chili powder. Cook for about 10-15 minutes more and it's ready to serve.
Note: you could add more sambal chili paste or chili powder if you want your Sambal Ikan Bilis to be more spicy!!! =)
Enjoyyyy~!!!
